The band was among the most divisive rock acts of the 1960s. Morrison had played a wonderful role in this achievement to entire band by his wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death in 1971, the remaining members continued as a trio until finally disbanding in 1973. Jim Morrison was the legendary member of the band. In some countries, the band is known because of Jim Morrison and they think the band was famous because of his presence in the band. The band never erased the name of Jim Morrison from the member list of The Doors. Jim Morrison and The Doors have many fans around the world even now after these years passed. Each year, the Doors and the fans commemorate the death of Jim Morrison as a form of homage and respect to Jim.
The band has signed a series of contract with Elektra Records in 1966 and then had release the The Doors in 1967 which was the first album among their top ten albums in the US. The second album was Strange Days release in same year and then followed by Waiting for the Sun (1968), The Soft Parade (1969), Morrison Hotel (1970), Absolutely Live (1970) and L.A. Woman (1971). The band became so popular and famous that won 19 Gold, 14 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the United States alone.
