The Doors recorded their first album from August 24 to 31, 1966 at Sunset Sound Recording Studios. They have decide the name of the album same as the name of the band, The Door - which was released in the first week of January 1967.

The American rock band, Doors has release their second album names Strange Days. This album was commercially successful album, this album has earned a gold record and reaching in seat 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The Strange Days includes of songs that were written in 1965-1966, but did not make it onto their first album, such as "Moonlight Drive", which was one of the first songs written by Jim Morrison. This song was recorded in 1965 as a demo and then later in 1966 which intended for their first album. In 1967 a final version was recorded and released on this album. Strange Days contains some of The Doors' most psychedelic songs. It includes songs such as "Strange Days", "People Are Strange", "Love Me Two Times" and "When the Music's Over".

Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album recorded by the American rock band The Doors. It was released in 1968 and became the band's first and only number one album and spawned their second US number one single, "Hello, I Love You". It also became the band's first hit album in the UK, where it peaked at #16 in the chart. With the exception of two songs, the material for this album was written after the band's initial songs from the formation of the group had been recorded for their debut album and second album, Strange Days. The highlight of this album was supposed to be the lengthy theatrical piece "Celebration of the Lizard", but in the end only the "Not to Touch the Earth" section was used.

The first Live album release by the band was Absolutely Live in July 1970. Many shows were recorded during the 1970 tour to create the "Absolutely Live" album. The Doors producer and long time collaborator Paul Rothchild painstakingly edited the album from many different shows to create one cohesive concert. For example, the best part of a song from the Detroit show may have been spliced together with another part of the same song from the Boston show, again trying to create "the ultimate concert". It can become very difficult to identify what parts are from what shows. Rothchild has said "I couldn't get complete takes of a lot of songs, so sometimes I'd cut from Detroit to Philadelphia in midsong. There must be 2,000 edits on that album".
Absolutely Live and 1983's Alive, She Cried were both repackaged and released as a two-disc set in 1991 entitled In Concert.Absolutely Live was subsequently issued by itself as a one-CD set by Elektra in 1996, with all tracks in their original sequence, but with a new artwork, different from the original LP.

The Doors first time appeared on American TV on 1967, they have been in different series and TV shows and even performing of their song “Light my fire”. The song was not live and instead the Doors were walking on a beach and the song was played back at the background. The music did not become much famous neither it had any financial achievement, but encouraged the band to appear in their second TV show. This play back song was a great start for The Doors, this opened the idea of the appearing in TV series and shows which later had played an important role for the band popularity and fame.

A wheeled TV was set on stage so that the band could see themselves on the The Jonathan Winters Show. Their “Back Door Man” was stopped when playing these songs and the audience could watch the Doors watching themselves on TV, the band finish the song when their bit was done and Ray walked over the TV and turn it off and that was their last night even in Winterland.

The band became so popular and famous that won 19 Gold, 14 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the United States alone.

Although The Doors' active career ended in 1973, their popularity has persisted. According to the RIAA, they have sold 32.5 million certified units in the US. The band has sold 100 million albums worldwide. Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger continue to tour as Manzarek-Krieger, performing Doors songs exclusively. They were the first American band to accumulate eight consecutive gold LPs. In 1993, The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
